- Disable GPS - The GPS module is turned off, saving battery power. This mode could be used while playing with the unit, but not needing a position fix while doing it. Additionally, if the satellite signals are acting weird (bars are dancing around or aren't receiving any signal), disabling/enabling the GPS module will sometimes correct the problem without the need of turning the the unit completely off and on.
- Demo Mode -This mode displays the following screens:
WAAS
The choices are:

This effects the reading shown on the Compass Page and any page displaying the Heading info field. When the Electronic Compass is enabled and calibrated, the PN-40 display are heading even when stopped.
When enabled, the Barometric Sensor is used to calculate your elevation. This result of this calculation is displayed on the Satellite Page in the lower right corner of the Sky View. This value can also be displayed as an info field on any of the pages by selecting "Elevation: Alt".
In addition to being enabled or disabled, the Barometric Sensor can be set to be automatically calibrated by checking the "Auto Calibrate Altimeter" setting. In the automatic mode, the PN-40 uses the GPS elevation to adjust the Barometric Sensor to maintain the correct elevation.

To calibrate the Compass, just follow the directions on the screen as shown below.
NOTE: When the Heading info field shows a red exclamation or the Compass Page displays "Poor Accuracy" in the lower right corner of the Compass Rose, it's time to re-calibrate the electronic compass as show above. If this happens frequently, then the Accelerometer may need to be calibrated also. To calibrate the Accelerometer, see the Calibrate the Accelerometer page.
