This section of the wiki is a place to accumulate reference material about the DeLorme Earthmate PN-30/40 GPS receivers. The PN-30/40 are handheld GPSr's designed for recreational use in hiking, biking, geocaching and similar outdoor activities. The PN-40 made it's debut around the end of November 2008, the PN-30 was introduced around the middle of July 2009 and then discontinued in early June of 2010.
NOTE: This wiki was originally written for the PN-40. As time permits, it will be updated to reflect the differences between the PN-30 and the PN-40. But, as far as I know, the only difference between them (other than color) is the PN-30 does not include an electronic compass or a barometric altimeter sensor.
